I am having problems with EQuest not being able to generate roof planes. I have a very complicated building and I get error reports that the roof is not completely generated and I have huge holes in the roof that throw the heat loads off and look bad in a 3D view. After a lot of searching and reworking I found that the program is not snapping to the Acad verticies. It get close but when you zoom in very close, the points are separated just enough to cause an error.
I drew an octagon in Acad and imported into a new project. I turned off the snap on the polygon and the grid leaving just the CAD snap on. I very carefully drew the outline and checked the coordinates to make sure they all paired up. Every thing was nice and regular and should have generated the roof surfaces but it did not.
If anyone can tell me why the programs does not work I would greatly appreciate it.
Oh, one more thing, I tried to move the Equest points over the Acad point and they would not move. They snapped back to the original location as soon as I released the mouse. I also tried to change the coordinate numerals on the left side of the screen but that did not work either. I could highlight a number and change it but as soon as I moved the mouse, the numbers reverted to the original. Even with all the snaps turned off.
