[Equest-users] Another Steam for DHW question

There are no other calculations except what's going on in the building.
For example:
Equest calculates that you need 8000lbs/hr of steam to heat your
building, and your heater + district distribution efficiencies= 65%.
Ultimately, you need 8000 / 0.65 = 12,300 lbs/hr of steam served to your
building. It will calculate the cost of the 12,000 lbs/hr of steam, not
the 8000.

Are you talking about the Source to Site Efficiency input?
I thought that would not effect what goes on in the building, but was
used for some othr calculations?

You can set the equipment efficiency of the meter. I think what I'm
doing (because I have the same problem) is setting this efficiency to
the efficiency of the heat exchanger and any distribution losses. I
can't think of what else to do.

I decided to try connecting a steam meter to my DHW loop and delete the
water heater. eQuest appears to use the meter to calculate the cst of
the steam to produce hot water. Thoughts on how valid this is.
Iamstill trying to figure out how to account for lossses through the
steam to water heat exchanger. Any ideas would be appreciated!
