[Equest-users] Assign one single zone to multiple systems in eQuest?

Anna,
You can not assign the same zone to more than one system in eQUEST. When
you define your zones, create them according to how they will actually
be conditioned by the systems. I would make separate zones/systems for
the offices that have their own split systems. If the AHU can vary the
flow rate to different portions of the floor, (such as through VAV
boxes, or zone dampers) then create zones for each of those areas. If
you have perimeter baseboard heating, you could create separate
perimeter zones. If there are no physical walls in between the zones,
make them "air walls" to simulate increased heat transfer. You might
also create an air wall to simulate a door that is routinely left open,
or a door/wall that has louvers for air transfer.
Regards,
Bill

Subject: [Equest-users] Assign one single zone to multiple systems in
eQuest?
Dear all,
I wonder if we can model more than one system to serve the same space in
eQuest?
The
whole floor is served by an AHU. And some cellular offices have their
own split AC units installed to supplement the cooling needed. I found
a post in 2008 saying that eQuest can model multiple systems for one
space. But, I wonder if this question has been addressed in the latest
version? If not, what would be a good approach to best estimate this
energy consumption?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Anna
