[Equest-users] Lighting Fixture Comparison Methods

The current project is our first experience with Equest. We have used the
Design Developemnt Wizard and have inserted a cad drawing of an existing two
story building which includes an open two story atrium in the central area,
running front to back, and includes a front to back length skylight. We have
manipulated the 2d and 3d building models and entered internal data.
We know of the three ways of entering lighting data: lighting-system,
lighting-w/area, or lighting-kw. We assume we need to use lighting-systems.
Do we leave the spaces for lighting-w/area and lighting-kw blank? We are
attempting to link different existing light fixtures (only 5 allowed) that
we set up on the component tree with the interior zones in the interior
loads tab spread sheet. The fact that eQuest allows you to assign light
fixtures (calling them lighting systems) we think there should be somewhere
in the detailed interface to assign them to zones at a minimum if not
rooms. Does anyone know where to do this? We noticed the EEM wizzard only
has watts per sq ft and we are thinking we are past the point of using the
EEM wizard as our building has been updated in the detailed interface (with
economizers ect.) and is more a more accurate model in terms of energy use
than the raw DD wizzard model. Is this the case? We are trying to model
existing T12 lights and compare them to proposed T8 lights, and do a life
cycle cost analysis using eQuest. If we can't assign T12's for the baseline
and T8's for the proposed system by linking them to the spaces, then any
other ideas would be a great help. We just need a good baseline parametric
run compared to the proposed parametric run where the results show up
and make sense.
Thank you,
